ABSA collaborated with Safaricom Mpesa to make its services available to its users through mobile banking. ABSA’s customers can deposit money from Mpesa to ABSA through a pay bill: 303030.
For any customer to access the services, you need to have an ABSA bank account. The person you are depositing the money to needs an account because you will need the ABSA account number to complete the transaction.
Below are the steps on how to can deposit money from Mpesa to ABSA
- Using your sim toolkit, your Mpesa app, or your Safaricom app, go to your Mpesa menu
- Select Lipa Na Mpesa
- You will be asked for a pay bill number. Use 303030. It is the official pay bill for ABSA bank. Press OK
- It will ask you for the account number. Enter the ABSA account number you want to deposit the money to
- Enter the amount of money you want to deposit
- Enter your Mpesa PIN
- Kindly make sure that you have confirmed if the details you have put are correct, that is, the pay bill number, the account number, and the amount you want to deposit.
- A verification window from Mpesa will pop up on your screen. You have 1 minute to verify the details. If you find they are not correct, press 1 and OK to cancel the transaction. If okay, ignore the verification window and wait for the transaction to be completed.
- Once the transaction is successful, you will receive a confirmation message from Mpesa
- ASA bank will also send you a confirmation SMS for the transaction made
For Mpesa to ABSA depositing, one can deposit a maximum amount of Ksh 150,000. Such a transaction can only be done twice a day.
