- Go to your Mpesa or Safaricom app menu. If you do not have any of the two, you can go to your sim toolkit
- Select Lipa Na Mpesa
- You have two options. Select pay bill
- The official pay bill or the business number for Equitel is 247247. Equity and Equitel share a pay bill number
- For the account number, you can enter your Equitel number since it is linked to your Equity bank account. You can also use your Equity bank account number.
- Enter the amount of money you want to deposit
- Enter your Mpesa PIN
- Before pressing the OK button, confirm you have entered the correct pay bill number, account number, and amount of money
- Press send
- You should receive a verification window from Mpesa. You need to verify If the details put are correct. If correct, ignore it. If not, you have 1 minute to quickly press 1 to cancel the transaction for you to correct the mistake you have made
- Once the transaction has been successful, you will get a confirmation from Mpesa
- Equity bank should also send you a confirmation of your transaction through your Equitel line.
